A warm welcome to Torkel Jönsgård Bed & Breakfast!

You find us in the heart of rural Halland surrounded by woods and farmland, not far from the towns of Falkenberg and Varberg and only 15 km from the coast. Lakes and picturesque country walks are within easy reach ( you can borrow a dog if you wish).

The rooms

We have three rooms available; two doubles, the Blue room and the Yellow room and the Family room with space for four people. Extra beds can be arranged in each room if necessary. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Included in the price is a hearty breakfast buffé which is served in the dining room between 07:30 and 09:00 or at other times by agreement. As a guest you have access to a fully equipped kitchen and two newly renovated bathrooms with showers. There is also a lounge with a wood burning fire, TV and DVD, and a wireless broadband internet connection if you bring your laptop, or access to a desktop computer if you don't. Should you feel cold you can rent our sauna to warm up.

The Farm

The oldest part of the house was built around 1780 approximately 50 km from its present location. In the 1860's the house was dismantled and transported to Sibbarp where it was bought by the daughter of the local inn keeper who had bought the land to re-build the house on. Strange as it sounds this was not unusual behaviour for the time since it was cheaper to move an existing house than to build a new one.

Around 1970 additions were made to the house for it to eventually reach its current shape of four sections enclosing a cobbled courtyard where you can enjoy your breakfast on sunny mornings. The courtyard is home to roses, lavender, peonies and other flowering plants which together create an oasis where you can also enjoy balmy summer evenings.

"Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality. Your home is charming and your bread delicious." 2011-05-04
